Baby's First Bolognese Recipe (food the whole family will love)

This baby bolognese recipe is a favourite in our household. Comfort food that is delicious AND good for you and baby? Yes please! Packed full of protein and flavour, this is the ultimate hearty meal that the whole family will love. This recipe is suitable to introduce to your baby from 8-10 months of age.

Baby - Loving Spaghetti Bolognese Recipe

PREPARATION TIME: 10 MINUTES

COOKING TIME: 50 MINUTES

SERVES: 4-6

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp. olive oil

  • 1 brown onion, finely diced

  • 1 large carrot, finely diced

  • 3 cloves garlic, finely minced

  • 500g beef/lamb/pork mince

  • 2tsp. Italian herbs

  • 2 tbsp. tomato paste

  • 700ml tomato passata

  • 1 cup beef bone broth

  • 1 cup fresh basil or parsley, roughly chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil in a large frying pan over medium heat.

  2. Add the onion, garlic, carrot, celery and garlic and cook for 10 minutes or until the vegetables have softened.

  3. Add in the mince and Italian seasoning, cook for 10 minutes or until browned. Stirring occasionally to break up the mince.

  4. Stir in the tomato paste, pasta and beef broth.

  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered for approximately 30 minutes, or until sauce thickens. For a smooth consistency transfer to a food processor or blender and puree.

  6. Add in fresh basil or parsley, and season to your liking.
